June 5 - Trinity Western University 19th Annual WIRELESSWAVE Golf Tournament

STAR-STUDDED LINEUP HELPS RAISE OVER $690,000 FOR SCHOLARSHIPS

LANGLEY, British Columbia - Trinity Western University's 19th Annual WIRELESSWAVE Golf Tournament once again set a Spartans fundraising record, as the event, which featured NFL legends Terrell Davis, Eric Dickerson and Marshall Faulk as celebrity guests, brought in $692,545 for student-athlete scholarships and scholarship endowments, Wednesday at Westwood Plateau Golf & Country Club in Coquitlam, B.C.

Along with Davis, Dickerson and Faulk, the tournament also featured CTV's Brian Williams as the evening's Master of Ceremonies, Canada's first Iron Chef America Champion, Rob Feenie, the Executive Chef for Cactus Restaurants, LTD. and Vancouver Whitecaps FC coach Martin Rennie.

The TEAM 1040, with host Bob "The Moj" Marjanovich, also broadcast its evening show live from Westwood Plateau Golf & Country Club.

The tournament broke the half million dollar mark for the fourth consecutive year as the event took another step forward in terms of money raised, surpassing $600,000 for the second year in a row. Last year the tournament raised over $660,000. Trinity Western has increased the amount it has raised for student scholarships every year since the tournament's inception in 1994. Since 1998, the event has seen an increase in the dollars raised from $30,000 to this year's $692,000. During its 19-year run, the tournament has netted over $3,727,000.

"It has been an unbelievable team effort and a blessing to see this tournament grow over the last 19 years," said Steve Scholz, TWU tournament advisor. "We are truly thankful for the many corporate sponsors and donors that make this continued growth a reality. It is a real privilege to be a part of something that directly impacts students' lives and helps develop our leaders of tomorrow. We simply could not have done it without the help of our Title Sponsor WIRELESSWAVE; Dave Hartman, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, WIRELESSWAVE Group, Retail Canada; Glentel; and many of our major sponsors such as Samsung, Bell, Rogers, LG Electronics, BlackBerry, Nokia, Sony, Gentec, Virgin Mobile, Fido, Vtech and Sky Helicopters."

In addition to a round of golf, each golfer went home with more than his or her value for the day including fabulous food and service from Westwood Plateau Golf & Country Club and plenty of contest prizes, registration gifts and hole host gifts supplied by the many generous sponsors. A particular highlight was that each golfer received a Samsung Series 9 laptop and a pair of Oakley sunglasses.

Along with an elaborate silent auction, the tournament featured a live auction, which was highlighted by trips to the 2014 FIFA World Cup™ in Brazil, Argentina, Italy, the West Coast Fishing Club and the V-Festival in London
